How Can I Vote at WSU if I Am Registered Somewhere Else in Washington?

Tuesday October 20, 2026

Ballots for the November 3 General election are currently being mailed from county auditors to the address on each voter’s registration record.

For many WSU students, that address is their home in county different than Whitman, where Pullman is located. If your ballot went to an address where you are not currently living this Fall, you still have options to cast your vote. Here is what to do:

1. Getting your mail ballot at WSU

Check and update your registration at VoteWA.gov: Log in, confirm your registration, and update your mailing address to where you live in Pullman. Your county auditor will mail a ballot to your new address. This change will keep you registered in your home county, but you will be able to receive election mail at your address in Pullman.

Or call your county auditor. You can call your county auditor and tell them where you are living now, ask them to void the ballot sent to your home address, and ask them to mail a new one to you in Pullman. You can find your county auditor’s contact information at https://www.sos.wa.gov/elections/voters/voter-registration/county-elections-offices.

Address updates online or by mail are accepted through October 26. We recommend updating as soon as possible so your new ballot has time to reach you.

You can also update your information so that you are registered in Pullman. If you update your residential address to Pullman, your ballot will list the Whitman County races and measures for your new address, not those in your original home county.

Return only one ballot. Once a replacement ballot is issued, the original is voided. Use the most recent ballot you receive. We recommend delivering your ballot in a drop box rather than mailing it. If you prefer to mail it, the Secretary of State recommends mailing it at least a week before Election Day.

2. Voting at the Voting Hub on campus, on Election Day (November 3rd)

Students who did not receive their mail ballot on time, or who prefer not to use option 1, have the option to vote at the WSU Voting Hub on Election Day (November 3) until 8pm.  The Voting Hub is located in the CUB Senior Ballroom on the second floor.

Students registered anywhere in Washington can use the Hub and need not make any changes to their registration to vote.

At the Voting Hub, you will be able to access your ballot, print it, mark it, and deliver it in the drop box outside the CUB.

If you are not registered to vote, Washington State allows for Election Day Registration, meaning that you can register to vote and vote on November 3.

Drop boxes close at 8 p.m. on November 3, if you wish to go with option 2, plan to arrive at the Voting Hub early on November 3.
